摘要

Health informatics deals with the resources, devices, and methods required for optimizing the acquisition, storage, retrieval and use of information in health system. This paper proposes a low cost, reliable medical sensing, communication and analytics device using ARM 7 (LPC2148) controller, which is interfaced with temperature and pulse rate sensor and GSM technology to transfer the information between the patient, doctor and the nearby paramedical unit. The Microsoft visual basic, which acts as a front end is used to link the database with the server. The server database holds the patient health record which is used as reference. This system compares the health information of patient with the details in database and delivers necessitate medicine to the patient in time. This enhances individual and population via good health outcomes, improved patient care, and strong clinician-patient relationship. Home monitoring programs can reduce transportation and high cost of hospital visits for patients in underserved areas. Results indicate that in the proposed real time system medical data can be transmitted with a high reliability.
