All optical logic gates have been a prime area of research in the field of photonics. Several architectures of AND, OR, XOR, XNOR logic gates have been investigated in the past. A special focus is given on XOR and XNOR gates as they are a fundamental component in digital logic circuits. In this paper a microring resonator based structure is discussed that carries out XOR and XNOR logic operations using optical Kerr effect. Output power of around 0.16 W and 0.04 W is obtained for high and low logic respectively. The proposed structure is all optical and use only light signals for operation.
