For small scale power generations using Hydro and Wind resources in distribution systems, Induction generators are mostly used because of its robustness and less cost. In this paper, a two-step power flow model for such Induction Generators has been proposed. This model uses the solution of the quadratic equation to directly update the node voltage of the induction generator in the power flow problem. The proposed model does not neglect the core loss and magnetizing component of the steady state model of the Induction Generator. This model has been incorporated in Newton's method based load flow program for transmission systems and backward-forward sweep based radial distribution load flow program. It has been validated in a transmission system test case and a distribution system test case. The results obtained from this implementation has been presented in this paper to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model.
