Negative to positive voltage conversion techniques are used in various applications such as automobiles, space stations and manufacturing industries. The DC-DC topologies used for this purpose include switched capacitor(SC), switched inductor(SI) and Hybrid (SC/SL). But the above mentioned topologies have their own disadvantages as well. Switched capacitor type converters require more number of switches whereas transformer less hybrid structures demands more number of passive elements. Besides, all the above mentioned DC-DC converter circuits cannot provide an effective path for negative to positive voltage conversion with respect to a common ground. Therefore, a new DC-DC topology is to be developed to meet the same problem. Voltage lift technique is used in a DC-DC Cuk converter such that negative to positive voltage conversion with respect to a common ground is achieved. This topology is also having the added advantage of a cuk converter that both input as well as output currents are ripple free. It is also having a high boost voltage ratio of 1/(1-D), equal to that of a boost converter, where, D is the duty ratio.
