Modeling county's sustainable development assessment based on improved entropy method: A case study

In view of the uncertainty of indexes, the entropy value theory is applied to combine with matter-element optimization method to establish an entropy matter-element model for evaluating county's sustainable development. Firstly, the data is processed to be dimensionless by average and difference; secondly, the coefficients of weight in this model are derived from the avail value of data reflecting the information entropy in which we conduct a mathematical translation to eliminate negative value; thirdly, the value of county sustainable development is calculated by synthesizing the weight and entropy. As a case, the model is applied to assessing sustainable development of Xiantao. The assessment indicators are selected by the references to related research. The calculated indexes show that the development of Xiantao is in a stable and harmonious trend and the proposed assessment optimization model is reasonable and practical.
