摘要

This paper proposes a small scale hybrid renewable energy system comprising solar photovoltaic (PV) and fuel cell (FC) for continuous power supply to the load. A simple control technique with a switched mode dc-dc boost converter is used for maximum power point tracking in the solar — PV system. As solar energy source is intermittent in nature because of the variations in irradiation and temperature, a fuel cell is added to the system for ensuring continuous power flow. The buck and boost switched mode dc-dc converters are used for comparing voltage output of each different combination with PV array. A complete description of the proposed system with simulation results is presented in this paper. An averaged real time data of irradiation and temperature has been taken from the Solar Energy Research Centre in Thiagarajar College of Engineering for use in the modeling and simulation of the hybrid generation system using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
