A Hybrid System for Cancerous Stage Classification of Colon Cancer: Cases Study in Taiwan

According to the analysis from the Department of Health of Taiwan in 2008 and 2009, colon cancer is the fourth common form of cancer and the third most frequent cause of cancer death. Hence, it has a great threat to male or female's health. In this study, we use association rules and neural network to analyze and predict illness condition, and tumor location of patients. Meanwhile, it could examine patient's colon cancer quickly and precisely. The database contains 139 patients' samples and 315 blood samples for the semi-quantitative analysis of mRNA marker. The results indicate some relevant rules, which classify the cancerous stage of cancer.
