Co-precipitation Synthesis of CaO:Eu3+ phosphor

摘要

The Eu3+-activated CaO phosphor was synthesized by co-precipitation method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), laser particle size analyzer, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR). The cathodoluminescence properties were also investigated. The results indicated that the micro-particles exhibited a good dispersibility and narrow particle size distribution with spherical shape, the particle size ranges from 0.5 μm to 10 μm and the mean size was 1.0 μm. Under low voltage electron beam, the Eu3+ions in the CaO:Eu3+phosphor showed a maximum characteristic emission wavelength at 593 nm. There would be a potential application in the field emission displays (FED).
