The use of microspheres for producing a microcellularrnfoam structure is a new development in rotational molding.rnMicrospheres are commercially available in the form ofrnsmall hollow glass beads as well as heat expandablernpolymer microspheres.rnThis work investigates the effects of resin propertiesrnand processing conditions on foamed rotationally moldedrnparts containing rigid glass beads and expandable polymerrnmicrospheres. Parts were produced using a metallocenernPE, EVA, metallocene PP and conventional PP resin. Thernmechanical and physical properties of these parts have beenrnexamined – including surface finish, density, cellrndistribution, stiffness and elongation at break.
