摘要

The box-counting algorithm is the most commonly used method for evaluating the fractal dimension D of fault network in coalmines. However, the implicationfs for the fractal dimension D obtained by this algorithm are in confusion. In this paper, the relationship of each individual indices and fractal dimension index, which are used to assess the complexity degree of faults system, has been well studied by means of computer simulation. It is established that the sensitive factors infecting fractal dimension change are fault number and the uniformity degree of distribution. It preliminarily forms a theory basis of the faulting mechanism study through fractal geometry.
