A Model for GSM Speech

摘要

Based on recorded control information for GSM traffic from a commercial network, we derive a GSM speech model for use in performance analysis and simulation. Using a queuing experiment, the model is shown to perform better than the traditionally used on-off model with exponentially distributed holding times. We also propose a method for constructing call level models taking into account the variation in activity levels between individual calls.
