This paper presents a data-management system developed within the EU-project "Blast-Control". The main system design aspects are the continuous monitoring over long-term periods with as little as possible efforts, the comprehensive coverage of all operations involved, the integration into the geometric situation of the quarry and the data input done directly by the quarry staff responsible for distinct operations. The flexibility of the system to be adapted to the specific situation at distinct quarries is an important issue and is discussed in detail in context with the data involved, ranging from blast design to crushing. Finally the data analysis approach is outlined and illustrated by examples.
