The first workshop of the ICFG Process Simulation Subgroup (SPS) has been hold in Ankara between 3-4 May 2001. On this workshop basically industrial users have presented their experiences with process simulation in cold and warm forging. Intensive discussions after the presentations as well as during the panel session gave opportunities to reveal common views but also controversial ones. The participants decided to continue with the activities of the subgroup in two basic ways: 1. To continue with the workshops. The second workshop shall be organized in Padova/Italy (D1MEG) where industrial companies will present their experience with the application of process simulation (here both successful case studies as well as unsolved problems shall be presented), software vendors will be asked for presentations on certain topics and material data suppliers will inform about their activities. 2. To establish an information platform on the web.
