摘要

This research paper proposed a real time study of hybrid series active power filter (HSAPF). This HSAPF provides compensation against current harmonics. The control of HSAPF, is based on Instantaneous Reactive Power Theory (IRP), generally known as p-q theory. This theory is used for the reference generation in HSAPF to suppress current harmonics and also compensate reactive power. The hysteresis voltage controller is employed for switching pattern generation. The reliability, effectiveness and validity of the proposed control approach are tested by MATLAB/Simulink (The Math Works, Natick, Massachusetts, USA) power system block set environment for two type of non-linear load such as voltage-type harmonic load and current-type harmonic load. It is observed that the performance of HSAPF with the proposed control algorithm provides exact and improved current harmonic and reactive power compensation. The performance of the proposed HSAPF system is verified by both simulation as well as real time study by experimentation.
