The stock approach flow system libnks the stock preparation system with the headbox of the paper machine. The approach flow system is a part of the stock preparation system. Its function is to prepare the fiber for papermaking. In part, it consists of the unit operations of fiber development (refining), centrifugal cleaning (removal of dirt, and other heavyweight particles), deaeration, mixing and screening (removal of oversize particles.
