Ozone matures in U.S.Drinking water treatment: impacts of the 1996 safe drinking water act amendments

The 1996 Amendements to the Safe Drinking Water Act have produced some major beneficial impacts for ozone treatment of drinking water in the United States. One reuirement of the legislation is htat the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) must promulgate two new regulations by November 1998. To aid in this endeavior, EPA created the M/DBP (Microbial/Disinfection By-Products) Expedited Rule Advisory Committee to assist the agency in assembling and evaluating new information and data on these two issues.
