Over recnet years, the nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) cell has become widely used as the rechargeable electrical power source for many applications. One of the reasons for its success has been the development of separator materials that have helped to realize the full potential of the system. In particular UV grafted non-woven polypropylene separators have been extremely successful in improving the reliability of cells especially in terms of charge retention, cycle life and high rate discharge. One of the major reasons for their success is their ability to maintain consistent and reliable performance during the full range of cell operation conditions.
