Will Self-Regulation Improve the Internet Security?

If technical and sophisticated systems apper as a necessary answer to many incidents, everyone is convinced that other means will also be needed to improve the security of networks, such as legal and/or silf-regulatory provisions. But the content of the current Internet Service Providers (ISP_s) codes of self-regulation may leave us dubious if not disappointed. They could be considered as more self-protectiong than protectiong the customers. There are also weaknesses in the technology commonly distri-buted by the ISP_s. Most of the browsers present some features and numerous bugs that undermine data secuprity and protection on the client's side.
