The workplace of Traffic Management Operators -what changes do experts foresee until 2020?

This paper aims to understand the dynamics of the Trau000ec ManagementrnCenter operator workplace. Currently we can observe an expansion of tools,rntasks and trau000ec volumes the operator has to handle. Using expert interviewsrnand Mayring's Qualitative Content Analysis 20 interviews were made andrnanalyzed. Experts come from four diu000berent ITS working felds in Germany:rnResearch, operation, engineering, administration. Results indicate that expertsrnexpect a massive change in job characteristics mainly due to technicalrnand organizational inruences. Conclusions are drawn for today's selectionrnand training procedures.
