SUPERVISIONED JET THRUSTERS AND PIEZOACTUATORS CONTROL FOR VIBRATION SUPPRESSION OF A LARGE FLEXIBLE STRUCTURE

Active control of vibrations is a fundamental subject in the field of large flexible space structures. In this work we discuss the problem of efficiently combining the action of two complementary control systems based on jet thrusters and piezoactuators, respectively. The simultaneous use of such actuation devices increases the effectiveness of the overall control capabilities exploiting the different actuators features in the best possible way. Simulations of the control system have been performed on the model of an existing laboratory structure.
