Umm Al Nar Power and Desalination Plant in Abu Dhabi Emiraternproduces 1000 Mega Watt (MW) power and 98 Million Gallon perrnday (MIGD) water. It is proposed to increase the plant capacity byrn62.5 MIGD. A comprehensive hydrodynamic and water quality studyrnwas carried out to investigate the effect of the proposed extension onrnthe water quality and ecology in the pant vicinity. The set up of waterrnquality model and the modeled substances will be discussed. Thernresults of the study will be presented.
