Modeling The Impact of Umm Al Nar Power Desalination Plant on the Water Quality

Umm Al Nar Power and Desalination Plant in Abu Dhabi Emirate produces 1000 Mega Watt (MW) power and 98 Million Gallon per day (MIGD) water. It is proposed to increase the plant capacity by 62.5 MIGD. A comprehensive hydrodynamic and water quality study was carried out to investigate the effect of the proposed extension on the water quality and ecology in the pant vicinity. The set up of water quality model and the modeled substances will be discussed. The results of the study will be presented.
