The influence of high hot-rolling temperature and multistage annealing on cube texture of high purity aluminum capacitor foils was investigated by means of orientation distribution functions (ODFs), TEM and OM. The results showed that the dynamic recrystallization occurred during the high temperature hot-rolling, and the stronger rotated cube texture {100}<011> existed in the annealed hot-rolled plates. At high cold-rolling reduction, the unstable rotated cube orientation split and evolved into the stable copper texture components. During the multistage annealing, the particles containing Fe precipitated first along the sub-grain boundaries at low temperature. Fe concentration in the matrix became lower. And the cube-oriented nuclei were found within copper oriented regions. So the genuine recrystallization took place at high annealing temperatures. After final annealing a sharp cube texture developed, and the R texture was suppressed.
