In this work, the transporting of biomolecules is investigated by using an integrated testing set up, which is made up of a pair of containers separated by multi-nanochannels. When a constant voltage is applied to the two separated containers, the electrolyte ions and biomolecules can be driven from one side to another, and the resulting ion current is recorded at the same time. The ion current will be modulated by biomolecules in the solution because of their physical place-holding effect and gelation effect. The influences on modulated ion currents by many factors, such as the concentration of electrolyte and biomolecules, are discussed and the possible mechanism is suggested.
