Assessing the Business Impact of IT in the Knowledge Economy: The Alpha-IC Method

IT toady is a 'general purpose technology'; far more pervasive than it used to be when it was being applied merely as a substitute of production factors. Hence, purely finance-based approaches, such as ROI analysis, fall short of capturing the real organizational and business impact of IT. The method presented allows for measuring IT's contribution to enterprise growth and change taking non-financial assets (or 'intangibles') into account.
