1) Cleaning ladle porous plug by means of oxygen lance greatly influence service life of the plug.rn2) A more practical heating test using oxygen lance was studied for evaluation of the wear resistance of porous refractories. Wear resistance index in the test closely correlates with the wear rate of porousrnplugs in service.rn3) The newly developed material (B) showed the higher resistance against wear by the oxygen lance heating test and the wear rate of the material in service was 10-15% lower compared to the regular material (A).
