摘要

The finite element method was used to simulate blood flow in an idealized diaphragm-type ventricular assist device,taking into consideration fluid-structure interaction effects.The results of this pilot study have been partly validated versus available experimental and computational results.It is concluded that this is a feasible approach for the modelling of similar devices for design and optimization purposes.
