The granular films were suggested to serve as the Surface-conduction Electron-emission Display (SED) cathode materials and the prototype device basing on the Al-AlN and Ti-DLC granular films were all successfully fabricated. The Voltage Control Negative Resistance (VCNR) were the typical properties of the granular cathode during electroforming which is corresponding to the properties of the emission current and cathode voltage. Our research presented that the granular films was a potential SED cathode materials with low working voltage and driving current. The green light from the ITO glass anode with green phosphor proved the feasibility of the granular films cathode.
