摘要

1. ILWs will be packaged and disposed of in engineering repositories near the surface or deep Underground. 2. Technology exists to vitrify and store HLWs for an unlimited time. 3. The ability to store vitrified wastes for long periods implies that there is no immediate need for a disposal route for these wastes. Further research is proceeding for other options so that disposal may be implemented when required. 4. More Geographic and oceanographic data will be required before optimum choices can be made.
