Infrared Superbroadband Luminescence from CaO-Nb2O5-SiO2 Glass Doped with Bi2O3

摘要

Glass with the composition of (70-x)SiO2.xNb205.30CaO.1.5Bi203(x=0, 3, 7, 15 mol%)wereprepared and the effect of Nb205 addition on optical properties were investigated. The visible luminescencecentered at 400 nm, 620 nm and 630 nm were observed, excited at 300 nm, 470 nm and 514 nm, respectively The near infrared luminescence centered at 1200 nm and 1300 nm was observed excited at 514 nm and 808nm, respectively. The results indicate that the infrared luminescence of Bi-doped glass might arise from Biion with lower valence.
