Safety and Operational Impacts of Access Management Techniques

摘要

As an advanced traffic management technology, access management reduces the number of traffic conflict points, lowers the probability of crash occurring, and improves road way safety and operations by classifying function of roadways (Mobility and Accessibility) and optimizing the design and operation of facilities (like access point and median opening and so on). More than 100 kinds of access management techniques appeared during 25 years developing period. It is the fundamental of implementing access management to evaluate safety and operational impacts of "priority" techniques. With the acceleration of urbanization in China, access management will be a hotpot of research and application in the fields of tragic management, transportation planning and land use planning.
