A portable,cost-effective,environmental friendly and miniature photoelectrochemical system in conjunction with a ultraviolet light emitting diode(UV-LED) is developed for determination of chemical oxygen demand(COD),namely UV-LED PeCOD. The COD value is directly quantified by measuring the electrons captured at a nanostructured TiO2 electrode during the photoelectrocatalytic degradation of organic species in wastewater.
