The present invention relates to a method for selecting an accident image by means of a velocity profile analysis, the method in which an actual accident image is selected by using a velocity profile analysis of images before and after an occurrence of a collision event, and an image of a level determined to have a low possibility of accident is deleted from a storage medium, switched to an overwritable state or restricted from being transmitted to a cloud server, thereby securing sufficient available capacity of the storage medium, reducing the data transmission rate and fee, and saving unnecessary management cost.
