The present application relates to the technical field of communications and provides an ant colony algorithm-based antenna weight optimization method and apparatus. The method comprises the following steps: selecting an antenna coverage related indicator area as a location area to be optimized; obtaining, on the basis of determined measurement tasks, antenna weights of the location area to be optimized, wherein the measurement tasks comprise measurement reports and minimization of drive tests, and the antenna weights comprise the beam azimuth, downtilt angle, horizontal lobe width, vertical lobe width, and number of beams of antenna sectors; and configuring corresponding evaluation indicators for the antenna weights, making corresponding adjustments in an iterative process, using the ant colony algorithm to form a positive feedback adjustment mechanism, and obtaining, according to the adjustment mechanism, an optimized antenna weight configuration combination after iterations are completed. In the present application, the simulation learning, discarding of weight groups having insignificant effects, and configuration of maximum number of iterations not only reduce the requirements for computing power, but also greatly shorten the search time for the optimal solution.
