The invention relates to a maintenance device (9) for automated cleaning and maintenance of rolling stands (1) or parts thereof, in particular for cleaning and maintenance of rolling stands (1) or parts thereof in cold rolling mills, comprising at least one movable and/or movable base frame (10),at least one articulated arm robot (11) mounted on the base (10) and at least one maintenance head (13) attached to the articulated arm robot (11) connected to an articulated arm (12),cleaning and/or sensory detection of maintenance,has wear and contamination conditions within the rolling frame (1), wherein the base frame (10) has means for guiding on rails, in particular on support roller interchangeable rails of the rolling frame (1). The invention further relates to a method for automated cleaning and maintenance of rolling stands (1) using the maintenance device (9) according to the invention.
