INTELLIGENT AUTOMATED ASSISTANT IN A MEDIA ENVIRONMENT

Systems and processes for operating a digital assistant in a media environment are disclosed. In an example embodiment, a user may interact with the media device's digital assistant while content is being displayed by the media device. In one approach, a plurality of example natural language requests may be presented in response to detecting user input of a first input type. A plurality of example natural language requests may be contextually associated with the displayed content. In another approach, the user request may be received in response to detecting user input of a second input type. A task may be performed that at least partially satisfies the user request. The task performed may depend on the nature of the user request and the content being displayed by the media device. In particular, it is possible to satisfy the user's request while reducing the interruption to the user's consumption of media content.
