The present invention relates to a method for eliminating legionella from a cooling circuit water contaminated with organic substances and inorganic particles of industrial plants, in particular a hot rolling mill and in a further aspect the use of bacteria for the elimination of legionella in a cooling circuit water of an industrial plant.
