The intensity measurements made by the photomultiplier tube and the mirror image charge detector are proportional to the charge state. These intensities are used to separate the detected ions into different datasets and create mass spectra from them. Ion measurements are determined by charge state using (i) a single electron multiplier detector, (ii) a single mirror charge detector, or (iii) multiple electron multiplier DC detectors. Be separated. In the case of (i), the intensity of the peaks calculated from each measured pulse is compared to a predetermined intensity range and each peak is stored in the corresponding dataset. In the case of (ii), each measured transient time domain signal is converted into a frequency domain peak, the intensity of which is compared to a predetermined intensity range, and each peak is stored in the corresponding dataset. For (iii), each detector measures a predetermined intensity range and stores the peak calculated from the measured pulse in the corresponding dataset.
