Lamp housing (3) for a UV light source (5), in particular UV-C light source, where:-the lamp housing (3) comprises a light emitting surface for emitting UV light (8), in particular UV-C light, which can be emitted by the UV light source (5) when the UV light source (5) is located within the lamp housing (3);-the light emitting surface comprises a plurality of openings (6a) of a plurality of channels (6);-each channel (6) of the plurality of channels (6) having a longitudinal extension (6b) within the luminaire housing (3) providing a passage from inside the luminaire housing (3) to outside the luminaire housing (3) for the UV light emitted by the UV light source (5); and– the inside of the channels (6) is made of a UV light, in particular UV-C light, absorbent material.
