The present invention relates to a method for producing a functional egg with a high calcium content using seaweed and a high calcium egg produced thereby, wherein a feed containing a dry powder of steamed seaweed using steam is ingested to laying hens to provide a high calcium content using seaweed. A functional egg production method is provided, and according to the present invention, the calcium content is significantly higher than that of eggs produced by feeding general feed or shell feed. It helps to prevent various diseases, especially osteoporosis, and to develop bones in growing children.
