Active hinge with a hood bracket for attaching to a vehicle hood, a body bracket for attaching to a vehicle body and a mounting bracket that pivots to the hood bracket and the body bracket. A locking handle is pivoting connected to the hood bracket or the mounting bracket. A bolt is attached either to the hood bracket or to the mounting bracket. The latch is between an unlocked position where the latch is spaced from the bolt and a locked position where the latch engages in the bolt,to attach the hood bracket to the mounting bracket, movable. An actuator is designed to move the locking hook from the first to the second position and cause the movement of the hood holder. At least one locking element limits the movement of the hood mount relative to the body mount.
