Provided is a pressed component manufacturing method which can be applied even when a pressed component having a shape that cannot be molded unless the pressed component is significantly narrowed is manufactured. When a metal plate is press-molded into a final component shape through two or more press steps including a press step, if the metal plate is press-molded into the final component shape through a single press step, an inflow amount of a material required for forming the final component shape is calculated on the basis of an increment in the cross-sectional line length of the final component shape with respect to that before molding, the calculated inflow amount of the material is distributed to each step including a final press step, and a preformed shape after the press molding in a step other than the final press step is determined on the basis of the distributed inflow amount. As a cross section, a line is set which, in a plan view, is orthogonal to a direction in which the material flows when the metal plate is drawn, and a plurality of cross sections are set which are cut by planes orthogonal to the line in a plan view and extending in a direction along the plate thickness direction of the metal plate before molding.
