A method (10) for a command center configured to remotely operate a vehicle includes receiving (12) input data from the vehicle and estimating (14) a current uplink delay based on the input data from the vehicle. Method 10 includes determining 16 estimated downlink and uplink delays based on input data and an estimated current uplink delay, and capable of at least partially compensating for the estimated downlink and uplink delays. The method further comprises determining (18) control information for the vehicle. The method 10 further comprises a step 19 of transmitting information related to the control information to the vehicle.
