A drive block 1 of an electric motor vehicle drive for two independent wheel drives of one axle has two electric machines, each with a parallel rotor axis, and a gearbox on the front side each. The self-propelled wheel drives, or the electric machines are arranged at least partially overlapping to each other for installation in a longitudinal vehicle direction. One inverter 11, 13, arranged side by side at the highest point of the drive block in the installation position, serves to control one of the two electric machines. At least one of the inverters is designed as a flat, almost square box,that it covers about one half of the top of the drive block. The two electric machines are arranged one after the other with respect to their housings. Thus, the drive block has two drives with its own gearbox housings 27, 29. The drive can be advantageously equipped with a parking lock for blocking an output shaft 31, 33. In each drive combination, a locking state can be produced. The electric machines are intended for installation in a vehicle transverse direction. A parking barrier actuator 321, 323 sits in a ground-level area 325 between the gearboxes.
