A system for increasing cell growth and astaxanthin production in H. pluvialis Flotow, comprising:an input unit for collecting a new strain of H. pluvialis HPI-001 and a Haematococcus pluvialis culture;a mixing chamber in which cultures are mixed evenly twice a day to isolate Haematococcus pluvialis and to produce unialgae cultures by serial dilution followed by a separate plate technique to 2% agar in 3N-BBM+V medium;a treatment unit for autotrophic cultivation of two strains of Haematococcus pluvialis Flotow in a liquid bold basal medium at a temperature of 25±1°C, a light intensity of 30 µEm-2s-1 and a 12/12 light/dark cycle;an inoculation unit for inoculating 10 ml of a seventh day green vegetative culture into 90 ml of a sterilized 3N-BBM+V medium in a 100-ml Erlenmeyer flask and for storage for a period of 30 days;a centrifuge for centrifuging at least five millilitres of culture at 5000 revolutions per minute for 10-minutes to discard the excess; the algae pellet is mixed with 5 ml of acetone and crushed with a pestle and mortar, wrapped in black paper and stored overnight at 4° C; anda control unit for calculating chlorophyll and total carotenoid levels using a Lichtenthaler equation and determining the amount of astaxanthin from theAcetone extract from the algae sample at 480 nm using an absorption coefficient to increase cell growth and the content of astaxanthin production in H. pluvialis Flotow.
