The method includes a preliminary study of rice for copper content, ranking it into three groups with different copper content and determining the need to process rice with a 1.0% aqueous solution of copper, depending on the copper content in it. At the same time, vegetative rice plants in the tillering phase are analyzed for the copper content in them after dry salting at 525±25°С using the atomic absorption method and ranked into three groups. The first group includes plants containing less than 6.9 mg/kg of aboveground dry mass; the second group includes 6.9-7.1 mg/kg; the third group includes plants containing more than 7.1 mg/ kg of aboveground dry mass. If rice plants contain less than 7.1 mg/kg of copper, then foliar fertilizing is carried out with 0.1% aqueous copper solution with working solution consumption of 300 l/ha. ;EFFECT: method provides an increase in rice yield and a reduction in the consumption of copper-containing fertilizers by determining the need for foliar treatment of vegetating rice plants with copper. ;1 cl, 3 tbl, 1 ex
