METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CORRECTING THE TIME DEFINED BY AN INTERNAL CLOCK OF AN ENTITY

The invention concerns a method for correcting the time defined by an internal clock (4) of an entity (1) capable of receiving signals from a satellite positioning system and of communicating with at least one other entity. According to the invention, when the signals do not allow the satellite positioning of the entity, the method comprises steps of: - reception, by the entity, of a message originating from the other entity, the message comprising a first piece of time data associated with the instant the message was transmitted, - determination, by the entity, of a second piece of time data associated with the instant the message was received by the entity, - calculation of a time difference between the second piece of time data and the first piece of time data, then - if the time difference is negative, determination of a time correction to be made to the internal clock of the entity. The invention also concerns a correction device (2) for correcting the time defined by an internal clock of an entity.
