A mixed light source apparatus, comprising a light source portion (1), a light splitting piece (2), a reflection portion (3) and a wavelength converter (4); a first surface of the light splitting piece (2) is provided with a first film layer which partially reflects and partially transmits a light beam of the light source portion (1), and a second surface thereof is provided with a second film layer which transmits the light beam of the light source portion (1) and reflects a light beam of another wave band; the light source portion (1) is provided on an incident light path of the first surface of the light splitting piece (2); the reflection portion (3) and the wavelength converter (4) are respectively provided on emission light paths, which emit the reflected light beam and the transmitted light beam, of the light splitting piece (2); the reflection portion (3) is used for reflecting the reflected light beam to the light splitting piece (2); the wavelength converter (4) is used for receiving the transmitted light beam and then outputting an excited light beam to the light splitting piece (2); and the light splitting piece (2) transmits the reflected light beam reflected by the reflection portion (3) and reflects the excited light beam, so as to combine and output the reflected light beam and the excited light beam. The mixed light source apparatus has a simple structure and does not need to perform complex light path conversion. A projection display device using the mixed light source apparatus is provided.
