A fuel cell vehicle (10) comprising: a traction motor (14); a fuel cell (32) for supplying electric power to the traction motor (14); an energy storage device (20) for supplying electric power to the traction motor (14), wherein the an energy storage device (20) capable of being charged with regenerated electric power from the traction motor (14) or electric power generated in the fuel cell (32);a power distribution device (22) for controlling targets to which the generated in the fuel cell (32). electric power, the electric power output from the energy storage device (20) and the regenerated power of the traction motor (14) are supplied; uphill running detecting means (124) for detecting uphill running of the fuel cell vehicle (10); control means (122) for controlling allocation the amount of electric power output from the fuel cell (32); anda gradient sensor (116) for detecting a gradient of a road on which the fuel cell vehicle is running, characterized in that the uphill detecting means (124) detects uphill running of the fuel cell vehicle (10) as long-distance uphill running when a speed (V) of the fuel cell vehicle ( 10) is equal to or greater than a vehicle speed threshold (THV1), the gradient sensed by the gradient sensor (116) is equal to or greater than a gradient threshold (THA1), and a count is equal to or greater than a count threshold for determining long-distance uphill driving ; andin the case where the uphill running detecting means (124) detects long-distance uphill running, the control means (122) controls the allocation of the amount of electric power output from the fuel cell (32) such that the allocation amount is equal to that of the electric power output from the fuel cell (32) is larger than the allocation amount before the long-distance uphill running is detected.
