The present disclosure relates to the technical field of multimedia, and relates to an editing template generating method and an electronic device. The method comprises: obtaining editing information of a target multimedia resource in response to a template generation request for the target multimedia resource, the editing information comprising at least one of editing operation information or editing material information used for editing; selecting the editing information corresponding to a target type as template data; and generating an editing template according to the template data.
